I'm honored to now be numbered among a very small and prestigious group of professionals with advanced training to better service the family law community and divorcing home sellers.
A Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert (CDRE ®) is a licensed real estate agent and neutral third party expert who has completed specialized training through the Ilumni Institute on the intersection of real estate and family law matters through divorce.
This training includes a detailed understanding of the legal and financial aspects of divorce, the disposition of real property, as well as specialized techniques for managing the interpersonal complexities of selling a home during a divorce. The marital home is often the largest asset to be negotiated and it deserves expert guidance.
The CDRE ® designation signifies that the real estate agent has the knowledge, skill set, and expertise to assist divorcing couples in navigating the unique challenges divorcing sellers face. This guidance is invaluable in helping them achieve a successful outcome that best serves their needs and financial interests.
A CDRE ® must have demonstrated a track record of success, maintain a clean disciplinary records and commit to abiding by a strict Code of Ethics. To earn the CDRE ® designation, the real estate agent must complete a rigorous certification program taught by a faculty of legal, financial, and real estate experts, including attorneys, mediators, mortgage professionals and judicial officers.
As an ongoing commitment to staying educated on the ever-changing legal and real estate landscape, annual coursework and certification renewal is mandatory to maintain the CDRE ® credential.
